WHAT IS NEWS?
NEWS is the northeast division of the United
Kingdom Windsurfing Association (UKWA) covering
the northeast of England, Scottish Borders and
North Yorkshire
WHAT DOES NEWS DO?
NEWS organises and runs an annual regional race
series for windsurfers using various sailing clubs
in and around the regions borders. Racing takes
place in the nationally established classes of;
Formula
Raceboard inc. RS:X
Techno
while there are also T15 junior classes and a Club
Class devoted to the novice and / or local club
competitor.
WHATS THE FORMAT OF AN EVENT?
Events are staged over a weekend with a minimum
of 3 races being held each day. The best 3 results
of each competitor are used to determine the final
finishing positions. While you don’t have to be a
NEWS member to enter an event, membership
ensures your result from each event is carried
forward and used to determine an overall series
Result. Racing starts around 1.00pm Saturday &
11.00am Sunday.
