WSW F4 for Saturday and WNW F4 for Sunday forcast. I'm up for it both days. Beadnel, Amble or Seaton point?

Bugger! The van is off the road until next week so it looks like I'll be stuck with chores this weekend.

Wherever 'there' is, I'd like to go too so please post plans before setting off. I'm a Beadnell fan. I'm not going to get too many chances to sail over the next few weekends and don't want to miss the chance tomorrow!

Thanks, Lesley

I don't wish to tempt fate but if all forecasts are right it looks like it's going to happen today - F4 or F5 SW.

A low tide at about 2pm makes Hadston a good option - I'd suggest the boardwalk rather than the boatramp as the kelp will be a major problem at low tide not to mention the smell of that dead seal right next to the boat ramp.

I'm watching the wind but expect to be able to make it for about lunchtime.

Never sailed at Hadston before but will give it a go. Carl, are you up at Beadnell already and if so, will you stay or go to Hadston?

Lesley,

Hadston, in a SW wind direction, like yesterday, gives excellent "easy" sea sailing conditions. There should be virtualy no shore break and the sea state will be flat until you get quite far out where there will be low chop. This can get a bit tricky but you can sail near the shore and avoid it - with the tide low sailing close to shore will be okay as it allows clean winds compared to a high tide where you tend to need to be sailing quite far out.

The main difference you might note compared to Beadnell is a much more "exposed" feeling due to the quite straight bay shape, but this is one of the reasons we love sailing there. Whatever, we always keep an eye on each other so you needn't worry.

Fantastic

I'm well up for a sail today - and I've even bought a cheap harness as I seem to have lost my old one - which stopped me getting out a couple of weeks ago.

This will be my first sail in about 9 months so flat sea states sound good.

Ross, is it easy to find/get to the boardwalk (the locations section of the website isn't up and running at the moment)?

Brad, you have been there before mate. But to help jog the memory you go to Durridge bay and turn right past the "boat ramp" and carry on till the end of the road.

C Y there .........

THe wind is picking up nicely now. Waves at Beadnel? Not a chance mate, If it were mid tide there might be a chance over the reef and the same could be said of Boulmer but not till 5-6 tonight i fear and there isnt any groundswell either. Sorry to disappoint you.

Adrian,

thanks for the offer. I've borrowed a small car so I'm going to try to shoe-horn some gear into that. I aim to be at the beach by about 1:00, see you later. If there's any change of plan I'd appreciate a call on 07771-770092.

looks like there is a bit of wind now and Theyr is showing f4 most of the afternoon.  windguru is a bit mixed it shows nothing for beadnell, dropping off quickly for redcar and windy for bridlington so it looks like going further south is the best bet for wind.  I have to go to teeside to pay some debts to my bro so I think i'm going to see if Redcar is working.  anyone else fancy Redcar?

It's blowing a solid force 4 from the North West. Ally- I could join you at Hadston this pm. Might be better at Amble though in a North West. I will take a look at the beach as soon as I can.

I can get out later - maybe 1:30  - if the wind stays up. I agree Amble should be favourite if it's NW.

Sorry mate. Tried your mobile many times. Apparantly you were on the pond while we were at old 'lobster pot' Hadston.
