I mat matt at d-bay for 10am and it was perfect sideshore at the north end with some small waves to play in. tide still going out but the reef just visible provided some nice flat water, bump and jump and cross shore wave riding to boot, 13 degrees air temperature, SSW-SW F4-5(possibly touching a F6, top of a F5 most of the morning). all the perfect ingredients! .

We had both rigged 5.7m and freestyle wave boards and were perfectly comfortable with the odd gusts and short lulls, just at low tide about 12pm (just as everyone else turned up!) the wind lulled  until the tide turned and it came back  just the same SSW-SW F4-5 but the incoming tide brought some nice little sets to ride and jump.

A few more lulls in the afternoon session were the wind blew from about 12.30 until about 2.30ish, still 13 degrees and sunny!  in attendance in the afternnon was ray (very briefly?), brian dey, bob and john c. Kev anderson also turned up and gave a good display of kitesurfing.

The best xmas present- a proper xmas cracker, worth the early session and the afternoon session         . turn me over- i'm well done!

Tis a sad brian dey, his 1992 5.2m ezzy wave may have had its last breath of wind, or has it?

Brief for me because while wobbling over the lumps in a prolonged and deep lull, I dropped the rig and smashed the nose of my board.

I am hoping that "Christmas cracker" was an unitended pun.

Bah, humbug!

Sounds like a perfect day, I was down at Seaburn walking the dog weaping not from the wind blown sand but for the rubbish excuse I have for a body.

There has been much talk about the lurgy , man flu, all I know for the last 10days and nights somethings kicked the B------ks out of me. Never mind ruining Christmas for the family and cancelling nights out and trips away

More importantly 13 degrees SW wind force 5-6, weeks of poor winds, time off and the husk of shell let me down.

Any remedie???

Andy, you have my sympathy, I've been coughing and wheezing for days now and I also missed the recent wind for that reason alone. I'd even negotiated the brownie points with my new wife for God's sake!

Here's to a healthy and windy 2008!
