Hey Everyone,

Thinking about a road trip for probably 3-4 nights between the 11th-18th October to sample some of Tiree's legendary wave sailing conditions. There will also be some epic PWA action to watch!! Wondered whether any of the more accomplished sailors among you fancied coming along?

The ferry is £140 (Car + £22 per person)

Accomodation varies but we're thinking of doing it on the cheap £13-17p/p/p/n (this will need booking ASAP)

Taking kit on roof but trying to limit to one board and a couple of sails plus bits.

Looking for two keen sailors/drinkers up for roughing it and splitting cost of the ferry....

If this sounds like you drop me an email [email protected] with a bit about your sailing standard, age and contact details.

Should be awesome anyway

Just had email off organisers and Wave Classic is deffo on for dates outlined. If anyone is interested, drop me an email or post a reply on here - accomodation is sparse so will need organising ASAP.

Any interest welcome - Joe.

Posibily interested, will let you know by Sunday night. Could use my campervan, this would cost more on the ferry but save on accomodation and mean I am stuck with the bulk of the driving.

If you dont get any takers you may be able to hook up with some of the Edinburgh sailors, have alook on the Caledonian WSC site forum.

Hey John (Little from Surfstore presumably?),

Just me and Pete in the car so far, happy to take your campervan and help with driving (I'm fully comp) and deisel if that's a cheaper option? Not sure where we'd sleep like?

We were thinking 4/5 in a car to split the £140 (car) + £22 each ferry? Not sure of costs for a campervan - Caledonian McBaine/Bryde operate ferry - robbing swines basically!

Jamiedodger might jump in and contribute by the sound of it? Let me know interest levels so we can noise up the Edinburgh boys if necessary?

You hitting Boulmer tomorrow? Tynemouth might be sailable in a SE with a decent swell running? :-)

Joe T

I don't think I'd be able to make it this time because I'm at school on that week, I might be able to do it if it were the 11th 12th 13th, (Sat, Sun, Mon).  But that restricts everyone else.  I'd certainly be up for a trip later this year or next, and reading the CWSC that the ferry prices drop considerably after the tiree wave classic (after 19th October) and the cut prices last till 2011, apparently.  http://www.scotland.gov.uk/News/Releases/2008/02/26133752

Not making any promises, but the company I work for supplies engine spares to CalMac, at a discounted rate, so may be able to hook you up with an advanced fare.  Will make enquiries tomorrow.

Accomodation is getting booked up for the Wave Classic week so any interest/info on reduced ferry rates needs to be worked out soon.

Basically we have two in car so far and would like to find at least another two people to come along to make it financially viable.

As Jamie points out it might be an idea to still go but on another week/weekend if costs come down?

If it's easier to discuss on the phone give me a buzz on 07779 127230 - Joe
